Available metro Denver apartments scarce, while rents soar

Available metro Denver apartments remain scarce, with the apartment vacancy rate in the area falling to 4.9% in the fourth quarter of 2012 compared with 5.4% in the same quarter of 2011.  It was the lowest vacancy rate reported during the fourth quarter of any year since it reached 4.7% in 2000.  Tthe average rent in metro Denver rose to $978 – increasing 4.9% or $46 from 2011’s fourth-quarter average rent of $932.
